Avon and Wiltshire Mental Health Partnership NHS Trust are looking for an experienced, competent and ambitious Head of Health and Safety to help us achieve Outstanding in the CQC ratings.

Your role will be to champion and lead a positive health and safety culture from ward staff to senior managers. You will bring a wealth of experience to lead, challenge and enthuse a team of health and safety advisors, Local Security Management Specialist, Back Care Advisor. You will have experience of developing and evaluating works plans, conduct effective health and safety investigations following incidents and undertake exemplary risk assessments.

You will bring skills and experience of ligature management and of working with the Manchester Tool or similar.

You will be emotionally aware, show political nous and be a confident leader who can inspire and leave a positive impression on directors and non -executive directors, senior managers and external stakeholders such as the HSE, Unions and others.

Your will be a source of expert advice and support to staff and managers and write reports for Committees and attend the Health and Safety meetings among others.
