Avon and Wiltshire Mental Health Partnership NHS Trust (AWP) provides inpatient and community-based mental health care for people living in Bath and North East Somerset (B&NES), Bristol, North Somerset, South Gloucestershire, Swindon and Wiltshire. We also provide specialist services extending throughout the south west.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior IT Operations Officer to join the Trust’s busy IT Operations Desk team. Candidates should have excellent in depth IT Devices experience, communication skills and an excellent working knowledge of IT applications.
This vacancy will allow the successful candidate to put their own mark in a vital IT Support role. The role involves acting as a point of contact within the IT Department, providing remote and local support to the Trust’s user base to enable them to make effective use of available software and hardware.
Candidates should have previous IT Operations and device experience, excellent communication skills, a high level Knowledge of IT applications and practical experience of some or all of the following: PC and printer configuration, Microsoft operating systems (Windows 7 and above), Microsoft office applications (Office 2010 and above especially with Excel) and Active Directory, SCCM and Anti Virus . Experience of scripting, particularly with regard to PowerShell. Candidates should also have team leader experience managing junior engineers
The successful candidate will be expected to carry out the following duties;
To ensure that all hardware and software being installed meets agreed standards, is fully compatible with the established base, and allows a successful transition from the previous platform or process.
To assist with the implementation of new systems and take an active part in IT Projects as deemed appropriate by the management team.
To identify how each reported problem should be resolved, to allocate resources if necessary and to ensure that all work is undertaken to the satisfaction of the customer.
To give advice on the IT support elements of new information systems which are being proposed, procured or implemented, specifically to ensure that when installed then they can be easily and safely supported.
To ensure that all IT Operations Officer staff receive quality appraisal & supervisions.
