Avon and Wiltshire Mental Health Partnership NHS Trust (AWP) provides inpatient and community-based mental health care for people living in Bath and North East Somerset (B&NES), Bristol, North Somerset, South Gloucestershire, Swindon and Wiltshire. We also provide specialist services extending throughout the south west.

Sycamore ward is a 15 bedded acute metal health ward . In your role as a Health Care Assistant you will be actively engaging people with acute mental health problems in practical and recovery focused support. Sycamore ward is a fast paced environment, and we care for a diverse client group.

We welcome creative and flexible applicants with good written and verbal communication skills. Experience in mental health is desirable but not essential which you will need to complete the Trust Care Certificate and if appropriate you can also apply for an Apprenticeship to help further your development. You will also have an induction programme with mandatory training, and additional training opportunities.

All ward staff are expected to work a mixture of shifts, consisting of earlies, lates, nights and weekends- this is integral to the post. All staff are expected to undertake training in PMVA (Physical Management of Violence and Aggression).
