Band 5 Occupational Therapist Sycamore Ward Hillview Lodge Bath

A great opportunity to join our Trust as an Occupational Therapist has arisen. This post is based at Sycamore Ward and is a full time post of 37.5 hours a week. Sycamore Ward is a 15 bedded mix sex psychiatric inpatient ward that cares for individuals with various levels of mental health need that currently require assessment and treatment within a focused supportive and a safe environment. We are located on the Royal United Hospital Site, within the world heritage city of Bath, with its exciting  night life, café culture in the day and excellent transport links country wide.

Due to the complexity of our service user group and their enhanced needs we are looking for an enthusiastic, innovative and forward thinking occupational therapist that preferrably has post registration experience working in acute mental health services.

You will need to be a flexible and versatile practitioner who is committed to delivering an outstanding service, you will be reflective, articulate and an excellent team worker. In a fast moving multidisciplinary setting you will use a wide range of therapeutic interventions to meet service user’s needs and we are particularly keen to attract someone who is confident in delivering occupational therapy assessments and interventions with a focus on recovery and optimum levels of functioning. With the continuous development of our service we would like to offer qualified OT time outside of the standard 9-5, Monday – Friday timetable. You will therefore be part of the rotational shift pattern over a 37.5 hr week.

You are expected to be an active and involved member of the multidisciplinary team with an emphasis of developing integrated and meaningful person centred plans of care and delivering these in the ward environment. Being line managed by the ward manager but with close and supportive links to other site based occupational therapists; we can offer opportunities for continued professional development, regular supervision including clinical and professional provision and the opportunity to contribute to the further development of our services.
