Arts Psychotherapist- Music, Art, Drama or Dance Movement

Based in the Inpatient Arts Psychotherapies service in Bristol at Callington Road Hospital.

Hours: 18.75 hours or 0.5 wte. One of the days to be worked on a Tuesday.

Applications are invited from an HCPC or equivalent, qualified and experienced Arts Psychotherapist to work within a supportive and experienced team primarily based in Callington Road Hospital, South Bristol. The team offers a range of Group and Individual creative psychological treatments across the 9 inpatient wards in Bristol and also a Reflective practice and clinical supervision service to ward staff. We would welcome applications from the 4 modalities of creative psychotherapy including Art, Music, Drama and Dance Movement for the one part-time vacancy in the Bristol Inpatient Arts Psychotherapy Service.

The team of 9 staff provide a clinical service to adult inpatients across the two inpatient sites in Bristol; Callington Road Hospital & Southmead Hospital. Therefore an ability to travel is important.

We are an innovative and creative team who work hard to offer the best quality services to our inpatient service users, and to ward staff. We actively support psychologically informed environments and reflect on our work using regular service user satisfaction feedback, Balint supervision and we have our own Reflective practice facilitated by a Psychotherapist.

The successful applicant will be a resourceful, confident and flexible Arts Psychotherapist with clearly demonstrable skills and knowledge in working with people throughout the adult age range. You will be able to demonstrate knowledge of working with a number of different client groups in secondary mental health settings and of having been responsible for providing assessments and focussed short-term creative psychotherapy interventions. We are especially interested in candidates who have an interest and experience of providing a clinical service to ward staff including Reflective Practice and clinical supervision. The role includes training about the Arts Psychotherapies to other MDT colleagues within the service. We would particularly value experience in additional specific therapies such as MBT, CAT or other therapeutic approaches and experience in the treatment of relational trauma. The team are enthusiastic about sharing its skills and knowledge and regularly take Trainees from the 4 modalities.

For further information and to discuss this vacancy we would like to encourage you to contact Fiona Williams, Team manager on 0117 919 5771 and would welcome and strongly encourage informal enquiries and a visit to the service prior to application and interview.
