Band 7 CAMHS Family Therapist/Systemic Psychotherapist
30 hours per week, 0.8 wte (will consider 3 days up to full-time for successful candidate)
We are looking for a motivated Systemic Psychotherapist to join our South Gloucestershire CAMHS locality team based at Kingswood Hub and Patchway Hubs. This is due to the current post-holder successfully obtaining a promotion within our CAMHS service.
We are a supportive, experienced and progressive multi-disciplinary team. We offer individual, family and group interventions which may be time limited or longer term therapies according to need. You will have the opportunity to develop skills assessing children, young people and families and ensuring they receive evidence based and effective interventions in a timely manner.
You will have to be qualified and registered as a Systemic Psychotherapist. You will also need to demonstrate that you have experience of holding your own caseload of children and young people with complex and enduring mental health needs including risk assessment and management. Preferably your experience will be from working within a community CAMHS service but may also include significant experience within other similar services and/or adult mental health services.
As part of this role you will join our two established Family Therapy Clinics and Eating Disorder team clinic providing Family Based Treatment. Also to provide clinical supervision and contribute to the multi-disciplinary trainees. You will receive clinical supervision from our experienced senior Family Therapist and join a wider professional group of 15 Family Therapists within CAMHS. You will be expected to attend the regular AWP Systemic Psychotherapy professional meetings and the local AFT branch offers a thriving series of CPD opportunities.
South Gloucestershire CAMHS has radically transformed in recent years evidenced by our recent improved CQC rating to Good. This includes significantly improved waiting times; fantastic team skill mix and opportunities for innovative practice. A recent example is producing a series of professionally filmed videos to provide an online group and resources for young people with emotional dysregulation. We also strive to provide compassionate leadership as we recognize the importance of staff well-being. As part of the wider local CAMHS service we are moving towards an I-Thrive approach to ensure our service is more responsive, accessible and effective.
