This is a telephone based specialist liaison role. This post will provide the opportunity to work alongside various agencies including GP’s, social workers and the emergency services. The role does not expect clinicians to carry individual caseloads.
You will work in a team of highly skilled mental health clinicians (including Social Workers and Senior Nurses), providing rapid and specialist telephone advice and assessment for people with mental health problems.
You will be required to assess a wide range of sometimes complex referrals and provide a decision on the best pathway early in the service user’s journey. You will need to be a confident assessor who can establish a good rapport in order to engage with the service user to carry out the telephone assessment.
We would welcome applicants who are keen to develop their clinical skill base. You will ideally have some knowledge and experience of working with service users with a diverse range of mental health problems. Being confident in assessing risk and agreeing plans with the service users would be an advantage.
The BNSSG Response Line is a dynamic and new service within the Triage department providing support and signposting across Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire (BNSSG), also includes individuals already under the care of AWP as well as those in primary care. At times, you may be required to assist with assessments, and supporting the call handlers when needed.
You will be joining an experienced and friendly multi-disciplinary team in a supportive working environment, with a visible and accessible management team who prioritises supportive supervision and a commitment to staff training and development.
You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
