Avon and Wiltshire Mental Health Partnership NHS Trust (AWP) is a significant provider of high quality mental health services across a core catchment area covering Bath and North East Somerset (B&NES), Bristol, North Somerset, South Gloucestershire, Swindon and Wiltshire. The Trust also provides specialist services for a wider catchment extending throughout the south west.

Our aim is to enable and empower people to reach their potential and to live fulfilling lives through providing recovery and reablement focused services that yield positive outcomes for our service users and their carers.

Specifically, The Trust provides services for people with mental health needs, with needs relating to drug or alcohol dependency and mental health services for people with learning disabilities. We also provide secure mental health services and work with the criminal justice system.

Increasingly AWP provides treatment and care in people's own homes and other community settings, reflecting the preferences of our service users. Our community services are supported by high quality inpatient services that provide short term assessment, treatment and care.


RECEPTIONIST – AWP RECEPTION Greenway Community Centre

Part Time 18.75 hours per week - 2 posts available (job share)

6 month Fixed Term Contract

This is a fixed-term/secondment for 6 months. If you are an internal candidate on a substantive contract you may only apply for a secondment. Please ensure you have the support of your current line manager before applying. At the end of your secondment you will return to your current post at your current grade.

A great opportunity has arisen for an experienced Receptionist to join our friendly, West Service Admin Team, within Facilities Management.

The role will provide a central point of contact for the building and the post holder will be expected to have excellent interpersonal skills, both on the telephone as well as face to face, as you will be dealing directly with members of the public, carers, services users and their families. Administrative tasks are included within this role and therefore comprehensive PC skills, including, Microsoft Excel and Word are essential. Good organizational skills are required as you will be required to manage multiple diaries and a room booking system.

The Greenway Community Centre is managed by Southmead Development Trust and AWP have leased space where the North Bristol Recovery Service are based. The reception role is part of an integrated service shared with the building

Applicant requirements

The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
