Job overview

We are looking for a Band 6 Nurse to join our Community CAMHS Team at the Wellspring/Barton Hill Settlement.

The East and Central Bristol CAMHS Team is located within a community settlement in a vibrant area of Central Bristol.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be offering consultation, assessment and treatment to young people and families from a diverse range of backgrounds.  The post holder should be passionate about working within diverse communities and be keen to develop an awareness of local community organisations and services that support the wellbeing of all families.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

To work in community CAMHS team as a Registered mental health nurse with current NMC registration

To hold own caseload and be responsible for delivering evidence based care or signposting where appropriate.

To be able to input into the triage team in CAMHS triaging referrals and signposting where indicated

To offer high a standard of mental health assessment , clinical risk assessment and safety planning with young people and their families/careers

To implement and evaluate care in relation to a young person’s mental health and physical needs in accordance with the nursing process

To be proficient in maintaining on going risk assessment for children young people and families/careers and linking in with the wider MDT.

To provide evidence based interventions for young people with a range of mental health difficulties

  • Appropriate Professional Registration
Desirable criteria
  • Post registration training in an appropriate intervention. E.g. CYP-IAPT, CBT, DBT, Systemic

Skills & Experience

Essential criteria
  • Experience of working in a Mental Health Setting
  • Experience of working with young people/families
  • Experience of Assessment of serious mental health difficulties/risk
  • Experience of providing intervention for Mental Health Difficulties
Desirable criteria
  • Experience of Care Co-ordination
  • Experience/Evidence of MDT working/liaison
  • Experience of working in a CAMHS setting
