The Research & Development Department of AWP are recruiting for a band 6 Research Coordinator. We are a fast growing friendly department with an important function in the trust.

The post holder will predominantly provide support to the COMP001 clinical research trial by supporting the study team to set-up, recruit and undertake follow-up for the research trial. Experience of contributing to the delivery of a interventional clinical trial, including management of participant recruitment, is essential  

The post holder will be involved in ensuring any research undertaken within the department safeguards the wellbeing of the patients and is conducted within the ICH Good Clinical Practice Guidelines for Research (ICH GCP), UK Clinical Trials Regulations and the UK Policy Framework for Health and Social Care Research. In conjunction with the multidisciplinary team, the post holder will facilitate good quality research outcomes and support the management and oversight of the trial.

Under the direction of the R&D Research Managers and Principal Investigator, the post holder will participate in the recruitment of participants and support activities for the trial. The post holder will work collaboratively with wider multi-disciplinary teams in engaging with service users about research opportunities. An important aspect of the role will be the maintenance of accurate and comprehensive records of data derived from the research studies.

The post holder may also be involved in numerous other exciting initiatives that AWP and the CRN is embarking on to ensure all our service users and carer’s are given every opportunity to hear about and be involved in research.

AWP is a research active Trust with strong links to three local universities and is a member of the Clinical Research Network West of England. Where required, the post holder will work closely with this network to facilitate and support recruitment across studies in mental health and dementia settings.

The position is open to individuals with a Nursing Qualification, RMN or RGN, as well as other experienced individuals with experience of working in healthcare research. Individuals will have experience of working with people with mental health problems and have an interest in clinical research. Experience of working within a clinical research environment would also be beneficial.

This is a fixed-term/secondment post for 12 months. If you are an internal candidate on a substantive contract you may only apply for a secondment. Please ensure you have the support of your current line manager before applying. At the end of your secondment you will return to your current post at your current grade.
