An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Research & Development Department at Avon and Wiltshire Mental Health Partnership (AWP) for a Band 5 Research Nurse / Practitioner. We are a fast growing friendly department with an important function in the Trust. Our research portfolio covers the specialties of mental health, dementia and neurodegenerative diseases. AWP covers a wide geographical area encompassing Bristol, Bath, South Gloucestershire, North Somerset, Swindon & Wiltshire, and provide research support in each of these regions.
The post will provide support to research studies by supporting academic and clinical researchers, clinicians, NHS and commercial organisations to set-up, recruit and undertake follow-up for high quality clinical trials and other well designed studies.
The post holder will be involved in ensuring any research undertaken within the department safeguards the well being of the patients and is conducted within the ICH Good Clinical Practice Guidelines for Research (ICH GCP), UK Clinical Trials Regulations and the UK Policy Framework for Health and Social Care Research. In conjunction with the multidisciplinary team, the post holder will facilitate good quality research outcomes.
The post holder may also be involved in numerous other exciting initiatives AWP is embarking on to ensure all our service users and carer’s are given every opportunity to hear about and be involved in research.
Under the direction of the R&D Research Manager the post holder will participate in the recruitment of participants and supporting a number of clinical research studies. The post holder will work collaboratively with wider multi-disciplinary teams in engaging with service users about research opportunities. An important aspect of the role will be the maintenance of accurate and comprehensive records of data derived from the research studies, and supervision of junior research staff.
The position is open to qualified Nurses with NMC registration and other registered professionals working in mental health. Individuals will have an interest in clinical research and will have worked in a healthcare environment. Experience of working within a clinical research environment would also be beneficial.
You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
