Avon and Wiltshire Mental Health Partnership NHS Trust (AWP) provides inpatient and community-based mental health care for people living in Bath and North East Somerset (B&NES), Bristol, North Somerset, South Gloucestershire, Swindon and Wiltshire. We also provide specialist services extending throughout the south west.
We employ over 4,000 dedicated members of staff who deliver services from more than 90 locations, working in approximately 150 teams across a geographical region of 2,200 miles, for a population of approximately 1.8million people.
We are passionate about promoting good mental health and wellbeing. We strive to use the expertise and resources within our organisation, and through our partnerships, to deliver high quality services that are safe and focused on people's recovery. Our staff are pivotal in everything we do and we are committed to involving them fully in the development of the Trust and our services.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a band 5 RMN to join the team at the New Horizon Mother and baby centre on a 9 month fixed term contact. We are a 4 bedded inpatient unit currently situated at Southmead Hospital.
We welcome your application if you are a registered nurse with the resilience, determination and commitment to help develop our service.
If successful, you will be working with a specialist multidisciplinary team supporting both women in late pregnancy and mothers with babies up to the age of 1 year who are experiencing complex mental illness.
The team liaises and works closely with other agencies and family members who support service users.
Although experience in this area is desirable, enthusiasm to work within this speciality is crucial therefore we welcome your application for preceptorship and we will offer managerial and clinical support as well as opportunities to learn and develop your specialist skills.
There are plans to expand to an 8 bedded unit and possibly to Weston-super-Mare.
You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
