Are you looking for a new and exciting role as a Perinatal Consultant?

We have a unique opportunity for a consultant to join a newly developing, dynamic and innovative team providing specialist perinatal support across Bath and North East Somerset, Swindon and Wiltshire (BSW)

This is a newly commissioned BSW Community Specialised Perinatal Mental Health team, whose core base will be the BSW Specialist Perinatal Service Hub in Chippenham, Wiltshire.

This is a full time post but part time working may be considered.

This is a new post due to a successful bid in wave 2 of the National NHS-E Community Development fund, to set up a BSW Community Perinatal Service. NHS-E funding aims to ensure community and inpatient perinatal specialist provision is available to all women across the UK.

This role has been created to ensure that the BSW service meets the national service provision standards as detailed by the Royal College of Psychiatrists CCQI standards.

This exciting new post will lead the clinical work of the new BSW service, by providing senior medical leadership and oversight of management of complex perinatal cases across the BSW STP.

The Perinatal Consultant will be supported in their role by a large multidisciplinary team based at the hub and spoke sites across the patch, including a full time Specialty Doctor, Psychologists, RMNs, an OT, SW, Nursery Nurses and a dedicated Senior Manager. There will also be opportunities for networking and liaison with Perinatal Consultant Psychiatrist colleagues in our Trust’s neighbouring Specialised Community Perinatal Service, which covers Bristol, North Somerset, and South Gloucestershire.

AWP has a forward thinking and inclusive medical community and we are committed to your development and helping you to achieve your career aspirations. You will be encouraged and supported to be involved in service leadership and management. We offer one of the most competitive and flexible benefits packages.
