The BSW Specialist Community Perinatal Mental Health Team is a multi-disciplinary team, which provides support for women who experience serious mental health problems or present with a high risk of relapse during pregnancy and the postnatal period. We offer assessment, treatment and psychological interventions aimed at treating mental ill health and enhancing the mother infant relationship, where mental health needs have impacted upon this. We provide multiagency training in perinatal mental health to other professionals and agencies working with women in the perinatal period in addition to offering consultation and advice. The team is able to work alongside women and their families from pregnancy until the babies first birthday.
The Specialist Community Perinatal Team works across BaNES, Swindon and Wiltshire. We have a hub and spoke model - the hub is Chippenham, Wiltshire. There is a spoke base in Paulton (BaNES), Swindon and Salisbury. The successful candidates would be provided with a laptop and mobile phone to facilitate mobile working. They would be allocated an area however would be required to be able to work flexibly over a larger area if required. Pre covid the whole team met in Chippenham every Tuesday. The expectation is that a similar arrangement will be made in the future however, at present, there is a significant element of home working to these roles.
This is an exciting opportunity for suitably experienced professionally registered members of staff; Nurse, Social Worker or Occupational Therapist to join our passionate team in delivering the above services. You must have experience in working with women in the perinatal period.
You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
