Applications are invited for the post of Locum Consultant Psychiatrist in General Adult Psychiatry. This is a full-time, 10PA post based at Green Lane Hospital, Devizes, Wiltshire.

The West Wiltshire CMHT operates a 5-day a week service.  The team is ageless working with adults of all ages, although workers work primarily with either adults of working age or older adults.

The postholder will provide input and leadership to the team with particular responsibility for patients from surgeries in Melksham, Trowbridge and Bradford-on-Avon.

As a large mental health trust we are dedicated to provide high quality clinical care. The successful candidate will be encouraged to be involved in service leadership and management.

Wiltshire has been commended by consultant colleagues as working with ‘supportive and caring staff’. Medical students and trainee doctors have regular placements in Wiltshire and there are close links with both Bristol and Southampton University with research and teaching opportunities.

Medical students from Bristol University are placed at Green Lane Hospital and therefore teaching opportunities are available..

Devizes has a weekly Academic programme with outside speakers. In addition, there is a monthly PDP group and Peer Supervision. CPD activities are supported.

As a trust, we provide a mentor scheme for consultants.

Devizes is a historic town and the geographical heart of the county of Wiltshire. The Kennet and Avon canal passes through the town with its famous flight of 29 locks, which are easily accessed on foot.
