Preceptor Nurse Opportunity – Wiltshire Place of Safety

We are looking to recruit a driven and passionate mental health nurse to work in our centralised Health based Place of Safety Service at Green Lane Hospital in Devizes, Wiltshire. We are based in a purpose built unit, surrounded by beautiful countryside. Our unit facilitates Section 136/135 admissions and assessments including a dedicated CAMHS suite. If of interest there will also be opportunities to work and gain experience across the different wards and team on Green Lane Hospital site.

This is a progressive role where we will be working with the successful candidate to progress in their career to become a Band 6 Charge Nurse following completion of training and competency based assessments.

As a newly qualified nurse, you will be enrolled onto our Preceptorship Programme. This provides expert support, training and supervision to help you apply your academic knowledge in real life situations without dropping you in at the deep end.

You will be developed to grow into a confident, autonomous professional with refined skills, values and behaviours. That’s on top of your new role helping to support people who are in the midst of a mental health crisis. There will also opportunities to gain experience on our Acute mental health ward to further enhance your competencies.

The role will be challenging, stimulating and diverse. There will be opportunities for close working with other agencies including those from Social Services, CAMHS, the Police and the general medical setting (A&E).

It is important that you have an understanding of multidisciplinary services and the challenges that face people with mental health problems. You will be passionate about mental health and looking to develop your practice and become a role model for others within our team. You must have an excellent understanding of safeguarding and how to work within professional boundaries. We believe that we can offer you something different from other Trusts.

If you are interested in this unique opportunity and would like to benefit from this significant training and development investment, please apply now.  We are happy to consider applications for any pattern of working hours.
