Avon and Wiltshire Mental Health Partnership NHS Trust (AWP) provides inpatient and community-based mental health care for people living in Bath and North East Somerset (B&NES), Bristol, North Somerset, South Gloucestershire, Swindon and Wiltshire. We also provide specialist services extending throughout the south west.

An opportunity has arisen within Avon and Wiltshire Mental Health Partnership NHS Trust for a band 6 ECT Specialist Nurse based in Devizes, Wiltshire.

The post is principally clinical, but has many different interesting dynamics to it. The Wiltshire ECT Team is based at Green Lane Hospital, Devizes and covers the 3 district general hospitals of Salisbury District Hospital, Royal United Hospital Bath and Great Western Hospital Swindon to provide a service for those patients requiring ECT who are more complex regarding their physical health needs.

The team is the most peripatetic service in England and a busy one with 39 referring consultant psychiatrists. A flexible working approach is required.

Wiltshire ECT team is a high achieving team having received an Excellence rating at ECTAS audits for the last 9 years. The team regularly drives innovation and change at national level.

Previous work in an ECT clinic is not essential but a willingness to embrace the role and strive for continued excellence is essential.

The role may include presentations to various different professional disciplines and occasionally at national level with support from the team manager

Driving licence essential.
