This is an exciting opportunity to join one of our multi-disciplinary teams, within HMP Leyhill. The post holder will support the qualified staff by working to care plans that aim to enhance and maximise the potential and recovery of people within the service.

The post holder will also support qualified staff with other tasks to ensure the smooth running of the care that we provide.

If you are a resilient, compassionate recovery support worker who displays good empathy and the ability to work flexibly in a challenging environment, this post may be for you.

You will be based with our multi-disciplinary team within the prison and will work closely with a variety of other professionals, including Psychiatrists, Psychologists, Social Workers, Learning Disability Practitioners and Recovery Co-ordinators.

You will have excellent communication skills and be committed to the provision of a recovery-focused model of care, within an integrated physical, mental health service and substance misuse.

Successful candidates will be required to complete (or demonstrate previous completion of) the AWP Care certificate.  All 15 standards need to have been passed in order to advance beyond the probationary period.  For details see The Care Certificate - Information for Applicants.


The successful candidate will also be required to obtain prison security clearance in addition to DBS and reference checks.
