Consultant in Primary Care Liaison Service

General Adult or Older Adult Psychiatry

5 PAs per week

Salisbury is a beautiful cathedral city with excellent schools (including grammar schools for boys and girls), a vibrant arts culture, easy road access to the New Forest, South Coast, Winchester and Bath and a direct rail link to London in under 90 minutes.

As a Consultant Psychiatrist you will be working alongside a friendly and enthusiastic group of colleagues.

The Fountain Way site benefits from modern facilities, a hospital library and shop and a new primary care centre. Nine consultants are based at the site with ten junior medical staff as well as visiting medical students from the University of Southampton.

This post is based at Fountain Way and results from expansion of the consultant staff in Salisbury. You will with the Primary Care Liaison Service in Salisbury involved in the initial assessment and management of adults and older people in South Wiltshire referred by GPs. The team includes experienced band 6 nurse practitioners, a nurse prescriber, team manager and consultant colleague. This is an exciting opportunity to develop the service in Salisbury.

The Trust is committed to medical staff having senior roles in management.

We encourage the development of special interests where they fit with service objectives.

The on-call commitment for the post is arranged across Wiltshire and Swindon on a 1:25 basis and pays an extra 1PA per week plus 0.3PA (3%) availability allowance.
