Avon and Wiltshire Mental Health Partnership NHS Trust (AWP) provides inpatient and community-based mental health care for people living in Bath and North East Somerset (B&NES), Bristol, North Somerset, South Gloucestershire, Swindon and Wiltshire. We also provide specialist services extending throughout the south west.

We employ over 4,000 dedicated members of staff who deliver services from more than 90 locations, working in approximately 150 teams across a geographical region of 2,200 miles, for a population of approximately 1.8million people.

We are passionate about promoting good mental health and wellbeing. We strive to use the expertise and resources within our organisation, and through our partnerships, to deliver high quality services that are safe and focused on people's recovery. Our staff are pivotal in everything we do and we are committed to involving them fully in the development of the Trust and our services.

We have an exciting opportunity for a suitably qualified, registered nurse to join our Community Intensive Support Service for people with a learning disability (and autism) . You will join a dynamic and friendly specialised health team with a diverse and interesting client group.

This role will focus on supporting individuals with complex learning disabilities, mental health and/or behaviours that challenge in the community setting.

You will work as part of a multidisciplinary team. You will have access to regular clinical and management supervision to enable you to work autonomously.

The successful candidate will have an opportunity to use and develop a number of specialist skills, such as behaviours that challenge and mental health depending on their experience and the demands of the service. You will also have opportunities to share your knowledge and expertise in this field of work with other professional and partner providers.

We welcome a visit to meet the team or a telephone discussion ot discuss this opportunity with you.
