An excellent opportunity to join LIFT Psychology, a Primary Care Psychology IAPT provider for the Swindon area on a 18 month fixed term contract.
The successful candidate will have specialist knowledge of the following to carry out the role which will encompass:
• The delivery of brief, short term and low intensity psychological interventions, based on Cognitive Behavioural and Solution Focused approaches, provision of information, CCBT and self-help for people with common mental health difficulties and assist in the running of psycho-educational groups and follow up telephone calls
• Mental Health promotion, which will involve the development of effective relationships between primary care and local communities and other services in the voluntary and statutory sectors.
• GP practice development in areas of mental health information systems; audits; self help materials; protocols and guidance implementation.
You will work as part of the established stepped care model LIFT Psychology Service in Swindon, which consists of clinical and counselling psychologists; counsellors; CBT therapists and graduate workers. You will need to be independently mobile, as you will be working in different surgeries across Swindon.
You should have a real interest of working with people who are experiencing mental health difficulties and with primary health care professionals seeking to improve care and treatment. You will need excellent communication skills and ideally have proven experience of working in the Primary Care setting. You will be involved with, and receive, ongoing in-service training and supervision.
You should have a PWP (Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner) qualification, or Diploma in Counselling, or relevant professional qualification in health or social care with relevant psychotherapeutic experience (e.g. Nursing, Social Work or Occupational Therapy).
Part Time hours will also be considered.
