Avon and Wiltshire Mental Health Partnership NHS Trust (AWP) provides inpatient and community-based mental health care for people living in Bath and North East Somerset (B&NES), Bristol, North Somerset, South Gloucestershire, Swindon and Wiltshire. We also provide specialist services extending throughout the south west.

The Mental Health Liaison Team at Great Western Hospital are a PLAN accredited team who are extremely proud of the high quality compassionate assessment and care they deliver.

The successful candidate will become part of an established service working alongside other specialist practitioners and our Consultant Psychiatrist.

You will participate in the provision of a responsive, needs-led mental health assessment and short-term intervention service to individuals presenting to the GWH with a range of mental health problems. A significant part of the role will be the assessment of individuals following an episode of self-harm. There will also be a teaching, education and support role, assisting non-mental health staff to respond to mental health needs more effectively in the acute hospital setting.

This is a challenging role, but if you would like to be part of an exciting nurse-led service, and have a track record of enthusiasm and a commitment to the development of nursing practice, then we are very keen to hear from you.

This is a 4 month secondment opportunity and must have agreement from your line manager to apply for this post.
